Rajai box office, Guardians of the Galaxy depak TMNT (Foto: Marvels) LOS ANGELES - Guardians of the Galaxy berhasil menggeser posisi Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) di puncak box office dengan keuntungan USD17,63 juta.
Film yang disutradarai oleh James Gunn inipun menjadi film di musim panas dengan pendapatan terbesar pada 2014.
Sejak dirilis awal Agutus lalu, Guardians of the Galaxy menghasilkan total pendapatan USD251 juta atau Rp2 miliar. Jumlah tersebut bahkan mampu mengalahkan pendapatan film Maleficent (USD237 juta), X-Men: Days of Future Past (USD232,6 juta), dan Age of Extinction (USD1,05 juta).
Film ini dibintangi Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, dan Bradley Cooper. Marvel juga mengumumkan sekuel Guardians of the Galaxy pada 28 Juli 2018, dan kembali digarap oleh James Gunn.
Posisi kedua ditempati TMNT dengan keuntungan USD16.8 juta. Diikuti If I Stay yang menghasilkan keuntungan USD16,36 juta, Let's Be Cops sebesar USD11 juta, dan When the Game Stands Tall dengan pendapatan USD9 juta.
